I have used YouTube since the start, basically. I created my latest channel Unipixel Media in January 2016. It's a tech channel with some random gaming videos. But mostly tech stuff. When I started upload gaming stuff, people didn't really care about that. They just cared about the tech stuff.
I also have a Twitch channel called Unimatrix36. But streaming isn't really my thing. Sure, I still watch other streamers, but I wont stream my self. I might get back to streaming in the feature, but right now I'm not going to stream anymore.
That's why I decided to have a dedicated gaming channel on YouTube. It's named after the user name I have in games and such. Unimatrix36 Gaming
Why YouTube?
- People can watch the videos whenever they want
- People are not locked to a time schedule (unless you live stream)
- Quality on the videos is a lot better (higher bitrates, even for live streams)
- I can use the AV1 encoder. Same quality, smaller files sizes
- Transcoding for everyone. Not just for partners (and affiliates)
- I can live stream as well, and the VOD's stay there until YOU delete them (no time limit)
- I don't feel locked to the computer during a specific time
So if you are interested in a pro noob derping around in games: Unimatrix36 Gaming
